Sautéed Mushroom and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Servings: 2–3
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or blanched if frozen)

  • 1½ cups mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or shiitake work well)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or sesame oil for a nuttier flavor)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced (optional, for a bright kick)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for richer flavor)

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare veggies
Wash broccoli florets and mushrooms. Pat dry so they don’t steam too much during cooking.

  2. Preheat pan
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add olive or sesame oil.

  3. Sauté aromatics
Add minced garlic (and ginger, if using) to the hot oil. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant—don’t let it burn.

  4. Cook mushrooms
Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3–4 minutes until they release their moisture and start to brown.

  5. Add broccoli
Toss in broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

  6. Season
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and chili flakes. Stir well to coat vegetables evenly. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

  7. Finish & Serve
Turn off the heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles—or enjoy it on its own for a light, low-carb meal.

💡 Tip: For extra flavor depth, drizzle with a teaspoon of toasted sesame oil right before serving.
