Philly Cheesesteak Roll Ups are a fun and flavorful twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Perfect for appetizers, party snacks, or a quick dinner, these roll-ups combine tender steak, melty cheese, and sautéed veggies wrapped in a crispy, golden crust.
Ingredients (Makes about 8 roll-ups)
- 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef steak (ribeye or sirloin works best)
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 can crescent roll dough (or use pizza dough for a sturdier wrap)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: a side of warm marinara or cheese sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling:
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using). Sauté until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Push veggies to the side of the skillet and add the sliced steak. Cook until browned and tender, about 2-3 minutes. Combine with the veggies and sprinkle with garlic powder. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Assemble the Roll Ups:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the crescent dough or pizza dough on a clean surface. If using crescent dough, separate it into triangles.
- Place a spoonful of the steak mixture on the wide end of each dough triangle. Top with a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
- Roll up the dough, starting from the wide end, and tuck the edges as needed to secure the filling.
- Bake:
- Place the roll-ups seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce. Enjoy the cheesy, savory goodness!
