If you’re craving a juicy burger but want to keep things low-carb, the chaffle burger is the perfect solution. This keto-friendly recipe uses crispy cheese-and-egg waffles (chaffles) as buns, offering a satisfying crunch and incredible flavor.

Ingredients:

For the Chaffles:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp almond flour (optional for extra firmness)
  • 1 tsp baking powder (optional for fluffiness)

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Toppings (optional but recommended):

  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Onion slices
  • Bacon strips
  • Sugar-free ketchup or mustard

Instructions:

  1. Make the Chaffles:
    • Preheat a waffle maker and grease it lightly.
    • In a bowl, mix eggs, cheese, almond flour, and baking powder.
    • Pour the mixture into the waffle maker and cook until crispy (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Prepare the Burger Patties:
    • Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
    • Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
    • Form into burger patties and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
  3. Assemble the Burger:
    • Place a chaffle on a plate, add the burger patty, and layer on your favorite toppings.
    • Top with another chaffle and secure with a skewer if needed.
  4. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve immediately with a side of keto-friendly fries or a salad.

Pro Tip: For extra flavor, add melted cheese on top of the burger patties or toast the chaffles for added crunch!
