Home Made Cinnamon Donut Bread

This Cinnamon Donut Bread is a cozy, sweet treat that tastes just like your favorite old-fashioned cinnamon sugar donuts — but in an easy-to-slice loaf! With a tender, cake-like crumb and a buttery cinnamon sugar coating, it’s the perfect companion to your morning coffee or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients:

For the Bread:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar, let sit 5 mins)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

    2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.

    3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

    4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Don’t overmix.

    5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

    6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and place on a wire rack.

    7. While warm, brush the top of the bread with melted butter, then generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over it.

    8. Tips:

      • For extra flavor, swirl some cinnamon sugar into the batter before baking.

      • This bread keeps well covered at room temperature for up to 3 days — if it lasts that long!
