🧀 GLUTEN-FREE CHEESE CRACKERS
Crispy, buttery, and full of cheesy flavor—like a homemade Cheez-It, but gluten-free!
📝 Ingredients:
-
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
-
¾ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour (with xanthan gum, or add ¼ tsp if needed)
-
¼ tsp baking powder
-
¼ tsp salt
-
½ tsp paprika (optional for color and flavor)
-
1–2 tbsp cold water, as needed
👩🍳 Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Blend dough:
In a food processor or bowl, mix cheese, butter, flour, baking powder, salt, and paprika. Pulse or stir until crumbly. -
Add water:
Add cold water, 1 tbsp at a time, just until the dough comes together into a soft, pliable ball. -
Roll it out:
Place dough between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Roll out to about ⅛ inch thick. -
Cut shapes:
Cut into squares or fun shapes using a knife or cookie cutter. Use a toothpick to poke a small hole in the center of each for that classic cracker look. -
Bake:
Transfer to baking sheet. Bake for 14–16 minutes or until golden and crispy. -
Cool:
Let crackers cool completely—they’ll crisp up more as they cool.
💡 Tips:
-
Add 1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
-
Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
-
For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
