🧀 GLUTEN-FREE CHEESE CRACKERS

Crispy, buttery, and full of cheesy flavor—like a homemade Cheez-It, but gluten-free!

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour (with xanthan gum, or add ¼ tsp if needed)

  • ¼ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional for color and flavor)

  • 1–2 tbsp cold water, as needed

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Blend dough:
    In a food processor or bowl, mix cheese, butter, flour, baking powder, salt, and paprika. Pulse or stir until crumbly.

  3. Add water:
    Add cold water, 1 tbsp at a time, just until the dough comes together into a soft, pliable ball.

  4. Roll it out:
    Place dough between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Roll out to about ⅛ inch thick.

  5. Cut shapes:
    Cut into squares or fun shapes using a knife or cookie cutter. Use a toothpick to poke a small hole in the center of each for that classic cracker look.

  6. Bake:
    Transfer to baking sheet. Bake for 14–16 minutes or until golden and crispy.

  7. Cool:
    Let crackers cool completely—they’ll crisp up more as they cool.

💡 Tips:

  • Add 1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan for extra flavor.

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
