Gluten Free Air Fryer Donuts

Here’s a Gluten-Free Air Fryer Donut recipe that’s light, fluffy, and has that bakery-style golden outside without deep frying.

Gluten-Free Air Fryer Donuts

Ingredients

For the Donuts:

  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour (with xanthan gum)

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • ⅓ cup sugar

  • 1 large egg (room temp)

  • ½ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Glaze (Optional):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Air Fryer:
Preheat to 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes. Lightly grease a silicone donut mold or small ramekins that fit in your air fryer basket.

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.

  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until combined.

  4. Combine:
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should be thick but scoopable (not runny).

  5. Fill Molds:
Spoon or pipe batter into the donut molds, filling them about ¾ full.

  6. Air Fry:
Place molds in the air fryer basket and cook for 7–9 minutes or until donuts spring back when gently pressed and a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Cool & Glaze:
Let donuts cool for 2–3 minutes before removing from molds. Mix glaze ingredients, dip donuts, and add sprinkles if desired.

💡 Tips for the Best GF Donuts:

  • Use silicone molds for perfect shape. Without them, batter can spread.

  • For a cinnamon sugar coating instead of glaze, brush warm donuts with melted butter and toss in a cinnamon-sugar mix.

  • Don’t overmix — gluten-free batter can get gummy if worked too much.
