Crispy Fried Meatballs are a mouthwatering twist on the classic meatball. Instead of simmering in sauce or baking, these little bites are coated and fried until golden brown, giving them a crunchy exterior while keeping the inside juicy and flavorful. They’re perfect as a snack, appetizer, or even served over pasta with sauce for an indulgent meal.

Crispy Fried Meatballs Recipe
Ingredients:
-
1 lb (450g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork for extra flavor)
-
½ cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 egg
-
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
-
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
1 tsp dried oregano
-
½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
½ cup all-purpose flour
-
2 eggs (beaten, for dredging)
-
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil works well)
Instructions:
-
Mix the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, onion powder, oregano, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until everything comes together, but don’t overwork the meat (to keep the meatballs tender). -
Shape
Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches wide. Place them on a tray and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes so they firm up (this helps them hold shape while frying). -
Prepare the Coating
Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
Roll each meatball in flour, dip into the egg, and coat generously in breadcrumbs. Press gently so the coating sticks. -
Fry
Heat about 1–2 inches of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy on all sides (about 4–6 minutes). Don’t overcrowd the pan. -
Drain & Serve
Remove meatballs with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving Ideas:
-
Serve with marinara sauce or garlic aioli for dipping.
-
Toss into spaghetti for a crunchy twist.
-
Pile into a sub roll with melted mozzarella for a crispy meatball sandwich.
-
Enjoy as a party appetizer with toothpicks.
