Crispy Cheese Fritters

Cheese fritters are the perfect blend of crispy, golden-brown exteriors and gooey, cheesy centers. Whether served as a snack, appetizer, or party treat, these little bites of joy are easy to make and incredibly delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mix of cheeses)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Oil for frying
  • Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Batter:

      • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
      • Add the shredded cheese and mix well.
      • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then add it to the dry ingredients. Stir until a thick batter forms.
    2. Heat the Oil:

      • In a deep pan or skillet, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). You need enough oil to submerge the fritters.
    3. Fry the Fritters:

      • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, ensuring they don’t crowd the pan.
      • Fry for about 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
    4. Drain & Serve:

      • Remove the fritters and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
      • Serve hot with your favorite dip, such as marinara, ranch, or a spicy aioli.
