Creamy Milk Cake

Posted on April 26, 2025

There’s something magical about a dessert that’s simple yet feels like pure comfort. This Creamy Milk Cake is light, moist, and soaked in a luscious milk mixture that melts in your mouth with every bite. It’s like a hug in cake form — perfect for celebrations or when you’re just craving a little sweetness in your day. Made with everyday ingredients, it’s easy to prepare but tastes like you spent hours crafting it. Let’s dive right in!

Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 3 large eggs

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

For the milk soak:

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the topping:

  • 1 cup whipped cream (or whipped topping)

  • Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

  • Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour an 8×8-inch baking dish.

    2. Make the cake batter:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale, about 3–5 minutes. Stir in the vanilla.
Gently fold in the dry ingredients, then mix in the milk and melted butter until just combined.

    3. Bake the cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for about 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes.

    4. Prepare the milk soak:
In a bowl, whisk together the milk, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.

    5. Soak the cake:
Poke holes all over the slightly warm cake using a fork or skewer. Slowly pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake, letting it soak in.

    6. Chill and top:
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours (the longer, the better). Before serving, spread whipped cream over the top and sprinkle with a little cinnamon if you like.

    7. Tip:

For an extra creamy touch, you can drizzle a little extra sweetened condensed milk over each slice before serving. Pure heaven!
