Whether you’re enjoying it with your morning coffee or sneaking a slice for dessert, this bread brings that comforting, country-style flavor we all love.

Ingredients:

For the Bread Batter:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2/3 cup white sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 cup milk

For the Apple Mixture:

  • 2 small apples, peeled and chopped (use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

  • 2 tablespoons white sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

    2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon (for the swirl) and set aside.

    3. In another bowl, toss chopped apples with white sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

    4. In a large bowl, cream together butter and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

    5. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.

    6. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Top with half of the apple mixture, then sprinkle with half the brown sugar-cinnamon mix.

    7. Repeat with the remaining batter, apples, and brown sugar mix. Lightly swirl the top layer with a knife.

    8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

    9. Once cool, whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over the top of the bread.

    10. Tip:

For extra decadence, serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce!
