Chicken Patties with Mozzarella

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, these chicken patties are a comforting dish with a cheesy surprise. Filled with gooey mozzarella, they’re perfect as a snack, appetizer, or main course.

Ingredients

For the Patties:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley or cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Filling:

  • 4 oz (120g) mozzarella, cut into small cubes

For Frying:

  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil (or your preferred cooking oil)

    1. Prepare the Mixture:
      In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
    2. Shape the Patties:
      Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a small disc in your hand. Place a mozzarella cube in the center, then fold the edges around the cheese, forming a sealed patty.
    3. Cook the Patties:
      Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties in batches, cooking for 4–5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165°F/74°C). Avoid overcrowding the pan.
    4. Serve and Enjoy:
      Serve the patties hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Pair with marinara sauce, garlic aioli, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
