Banana bread is a classic comfort food, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or even dessert. It’s an easy recipe that makes use of overripe bananas—transforming them into a moist, sweet loaf with a tender crumb.
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar (or adjust to taste)
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven: Set it to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add dry ingredients: Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the wet mixture. Stir in the flour gradually, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Optional add-ins: If you’d like to jazz up your banana bread, now is the time to fold in chopped nuts (like walnuts or pecans) or chocolate chips.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
