Sweetened Condensed Milk Bread

Sweetened condensed milk bread offers a soft, pillowy texture with just the right amount of sweetness. The addition of condensed milk gives the bread a tender crumb, while also adding richness and depth to the flavor. Each slice is perfect for breakfast or as a snack, lightly toasted with butter or paired with jam.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Prepare dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the egg, sweetened condensed milk, and yeast mixture. Stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: Gradually add the softened butter and knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the dough: Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Second rise: Cover and let it rise again for about 45 minutes.
  7. Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
  8. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool before slicing. Enjoy it warm or toasted with butter!
