Sautéed Mushroom and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Servings: 2–3
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
-
2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or blanched if frozen)
-
1½ cups mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or shiitake work well)
-
2 tbsp olive oil (or sesame oil for a nuttier flavor)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced (optional, for a bright kick)
-
2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
-
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for richer flavor)
-
½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
-
Salt & black pepper, to taste
-
Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare veggies
Wash broccoli florets and mushrooms. Pat dry so they don’t steam too much during cooking. -
Preheat pan
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add olive or sesame oil. -
Sauté aromatics
Add minced garlic (and ginger, if using) to the hot oil. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant—don’t let it burn. -
Cook mushrooms
Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3–4 minutes until they release their moisture and start to brown. -
Add broccoli
Toss in broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. -
Season
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and chili flakes. Stir well to coat vegetables evenly. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. -
Finish & Serve
Turn off the heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles—or enjoy it on its own for a light, low-carb meal.
💡 Tip: For extra flavor depth, drizzle with a teaspoon of toasted sesame oil right before serving.
