Classic Cherry Delight Recipe

Here’s a Classic Cherry Delight recipe — that retro, creamy, no-bake dessert with a buttery crust, fluffy cream cheese layer, and sweet cherry topping.

Classic Cherry Delight

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (about 12 crackers)

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (or 8 oz whipped topping)

Topping

  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust

    • In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and sugar.

    • Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbs are evenly coated.

    • Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×9-inch square baking dish.

    • Refrigerate while you make the filling.

  2. Make the creamy filling

    • In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.

    • Add powdered sugar and vanilla; mix well.

    • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form (skip if using whipped topping).

    • Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture until combined.

  3. Assemble

    • Spread the creamy filling evenly over the chilled crust.

    • Spoon cherry pie filling on top, spreading gently to cover.

  4. Chill and serve

    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours (overnight is best) so it sets nicely.

    • Slice into squares and enjoy!

Tip: For a little extra flair, sprinkle crushed graham crackers or shaved white chocolate on top before serving.
