Glazed Apple Cinnamon Bread

Glazed Apple Cinnamon Bread is a cozy, sweet treat that fills your kitchen with the warm aroma of cinnamon-spiced apples. This moist, tender loaf combines juicy apple chunks with a swirl of cinnamon sugar, topped with a luscious glaze for the perfect finishing touch. It’s ideal for breakfast, afternoon coffee, or as a dessert that feels like a warm hug on a crisp day.

Ingredients:

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup sour cream (or plain yogurt)

  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples (about 2 medium)

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla.

  4. Mix in sour cream, then gradually add dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chopped apples.

  5. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon swirl sugar and cinnamon.

  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture, then repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon sugar. Swirl gently with a knife.

  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

  8. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.

  9. Slice and enjoy the soft, cinnamon-apple goodness with its sweet glaze topping.
