Ingredients:
For the Bread:
-
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar, let sit 5 mins)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
1/2 tsp baking soda
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
-
1/4 cup granulated sugar
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
-
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Don’t overmix.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
-
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and place on a wire rack.
-
While warm, brush the top of the bread with melted butter, then generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over it.
