Whether you’re mopping up sauces or enjoying it plain, this flatbread brings bakery-level flavor to your kitchen in the easiest way possible.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup plain yogurt (or Greek yogurt)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for cooking)

For Garlic Butter:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

  • Instructions:

    1. Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add yogurt and olive oil. Mix with a spoon until a shaggy dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 2–3 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 20–30 minutes.

    2. Prepare Garlic Butter:
In a small pan, melt butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (not browned). Stir in parsley and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

    3. Roll Out Flatbreads:
Divide rested dough into 6 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten and roll into a 6–7 inch circle on a lightly floured surface.

    4. Cook Flatbreads:
Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Brush with a little olive oil. Cook each flatbread for about 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown spots appear and the bread puffs slightly.

    5. Finish with Garlic Butter:
Brush the hot flatbreads immediately with the prepared garlic butter. Serve warm.

  • Tips:

    • For extra softness, cover the cooked flatbreads with a clean kitchen towel to trap steam.

    • You can substitute yogurt with buttermilk or even sour cream in a pinch.\

    • Perfect With:
Creamy soups, curry dishes, grilled meats, or as a base for flatbread pizzas.

Let me know if you’d like a gluten-free version or to add cheese or herbs into the dough!
