Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

  • 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or rigatoni work well)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping, optional)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (if using breadcrumbs)

  • Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

    2. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Add broccoli during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.

    3. Make the sauce:
In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.

    4. Gradually whisk in milk and cream. Cook, whisking constantly, until sauce thickens (about 4-5 minutes). Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

    5. Stir in cheeses (reserve 1/2 cup mozzarella for topping) and mix until melted and creamy.

    6. Combine:
In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta, broccoli, chicken, and cream sauce. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.

    7. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan. If using, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil or butter and sprinkle over the top.

    8. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly golden on top.

    9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

    10. Tips:

      • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience.

      • Add mushrooms, peas, or spinach for extra veggies.

      • Swap out cheeses for what you love — cheddar, gouda, or Swiss all work well!
