Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup (200g) mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (25g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For Topping:

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
  • Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Dough:
      • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
      • Add warm milk and melted butter, then mix until a dough forms.
      • Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
      • Cover and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
    2. Prepare the Filling:
      • In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, mozzarella, cheddar, garlic powder, and black pepper.
    3. Shape the Bread:
      • Once the dough has risen, roll it into a rectangle (about ½ inch thick).
      • Spread the potato-cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
      • Roll the dough into a log and pinch the edges to seal.
    4. Second Rise:
      • Place the log on a baking sheet, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
    5. Bake:
      • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
      • Brush the top with melted butter.
      • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
