Ingredients:

For the Banana Bread:

  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Make the Banana Bread Batter: In a large bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas. Add the sugar and brown sugar, stirring until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, and then fold in the flour until just combined. Set aside.
  3. Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Layer the Batter and Filling: Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly on top of the batter. Pour the remaining banana bread batter over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover the loaf loosely with foil halfway through baking.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

This banana bread stays moist for days and makes a fantastic addition to your baking repertoire!
